For the second week in a row, Kurt Busch and the number 22 team were able to capture the pole position following trouble in practice. Busch cashed his car in Friday's practice and went to a back up car, but was able to post a lap of 171.579 mph and 52.454 seconds. Busch will not have to start in the rear of the field since he changed cars before qualifying and not after it. Mike Skinner did not qualify after wrecking his car in his qualifying lap.
