After contending for the victory in the Aaaron's 499 at Talladega Superspeedway, Tommy Baldwin racing was able to secure sponsorship for the remainder of the season, allowing the team to be able to race every weekend.
Good fortunes continued to hover over the team two weeks later at Richmond International Raceway. The team, sponsored by Golden Corral, finished 13th, adding to their momentum. The team now has moved into the top 35 in owner's points - guaranteeing them a starting position in next weekend's race at Darlington.
There is no doubt that the team was able to make their new full time sponsor proud. Now that more money is coming into that team, perhaps Tommy Balwin racing can become more relevant with better equipment.
The team truly has an opportunity now that most small teams of their size will never have. Hopefully, it will work out for them in the years to come.
What a story that would be.
