Steve Wallace to make Cup debut at Daytona
NASCAR Nationwide Series regular Steve Wallace is expected to make his Sprint Cup Series debut in this season's season-opening Daytona 500.
Despite never competing at the Sprint Cup level before, Wallace has a guaranteed spot in this year's Daytona 500 starting field. According to Penske Racing owner Roger Penske Wallace will utilize owner points from Penske's No. 77 team that finished in the top-35 in 2010 owner points.
Wallace has quite a bit of restrictor plate racing experience at the Nationwide level. He has a combined total of 12 starts at plate tracks Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway, seven of those resulting in DNFs.
