Trevor Bayne has been hospitalized at North Carolina hospital to receive treatment for a serious insect bite that he received early last weekend.
Bayne, the 2011 Daytona 500 winner, checked himself into the hospital Sunday morning, after there was major swelling on his elbow following the race at Texas Motor Speedway.
He did check in with the infield care center at times during the race weekend, however the bite was not as severe at the time. He checked into the hospital at 2 a.m. Sunday.
