Denny Hamlin was able to hold off the win from a hard charging Matt Kenseth at Michigan International Raceway and take his first checkered flag of the season. He was not a dominate force however - he captured the lead through pit road late in the race. His team is able to rebound after much controversy following the team's oil pan being unapproved by NASCAR earlier in the weekend.
There were 21 lead changes among 12 drivers and 5 cautions for 18 yellow flag laps. The attendance was listed to be 88,000 people.
